Marin Alsop, music director of the Baltimore Symphony visited the University of Iowa campus March 28, 2018 to deliver a lecture in the Creative Matters series co-sponsored by the UI Office of the Vice President for Research and Economic Development.

Marin Alsop, music director of the Baltimore Symphony, made history in 2007 as the first woman to head a major American orchestra. Alsop is an inspiring and powerful voice in Baltimore and the international music scene, a music director of vision and distinction who passionately believes that “music has the power to change lives.”

Creative Matters is an initiative of the UI Arts Advancement Committee and is sponsored by the UI Office of the Vice President for Research and Economic Development.

All events are free and open to the public.
