Rice vs. Currywurst: We are testing the Hyundai i30N performance against the Volkswagen Golf 7 GTI Performance! We show you both vehicles in a rough overview and also do a soundcheck. In addition, we drive several 100-200kph measurements with the Hyundai i30N and VW Golf GTI.
The sound of the VW Golf GTI is very cautious compared to the Hyundai i30N. We also like the interior of the i30N Performance very well, although we do not want to talk badly about the Golf GTI.
The Hyundai i30N Performance has a 2.0 liter T-GDI engine and delivers 275 hp and 353 Nm. We really like the feel of the Hyundai i30N Performance. Of course we find a lot of plastic in the interior, which has good quality. We find everywhere the typical blue seams and accents. The Hyundai i30N Performance is recommended with 95 ROZ and E10. The clutch is very smooth. A very striking detail: The noisy exhaust system ex works. With 109dB the indication is the highest in its class.
The Volkswagen Golf 7 GTI Performance also has a 2.0 liter turbo engine. The TSI makes 230 hp and 350 Nm. Also, the VW is equipped with front-wheel drive and beyond with a DSG transmission. The interior in the gulf is classic. Also a lot of plastic, but even higher quality than the i30N. It has also felt more space from the legroom and softer, more comfortable seats.
Generally, we find that the Hyundai i30N Performance is a very good alternative to the VW Golf VII GTI Performance.
