Making shorts seems like an intimidating task, especially for those who are just starting to sew. But in fact, you can sew yourself a pair of comfortable pants without spending much time.
The main thing is to choose a suitable pattern.
What fabric are summer shorts made from? There are no restrictions; any light fabric will do: linen, cotton and other similar material.
Knitwear is especially good, it is easy to work with and the finished product will fit comfortably on the figure, as the fabric stretches and takes the shape of the figure.
This pattern can be enlarged if desired, making the length longer and the fit higher.
Here you can see that the hip circumference is 116 cm (30+28) x2 = 116. That is, such shorts are suitable for those with hips of 110 centimeters or less. For those who have larger hips and want wide shorts, you can increase the pattern along the side seam by a few centimeters. Also, the landing height is 34 cm, it is better to make it 37 -38 cm.
I made my own side pockets. But for beginners it is better to simplify the process and not make pockets or cut the side seam, then you will get 2 parts.
For a model with pockets, you need to cut the side seam.
How to sew:
On the front halves from the waist line along the side seam I marked 5, 7 and 15 cm.
I prepared 4 burlap pockets 15x29 cm, attached them to the pattern from the 5 cm mark, and stitched where 15 cm is the entrance to the pocket.
I made cuts in the corners and turned the burlap inside out.
I attached a second burlap and sewed a pocket. That's how it happened.
I connected the front and back parts, sewed the side seam.
I folded the parts of the shorts and sewed them where the curves were.
Then I unfolded the shorts so that the stitched seams were in the middle. I stitched it to create a seam that will be between the legs.
She turned up her belt, grabbing the burlap of her pockets.
I inserted an elastic band inside.
I hemmed my shorts.
Ready.
