Sinema tarihinin tozlu sayfalarına sıkışmış bir hazineyi; sosyalist yönetmen Attila Tokatlı'nın özgün ve gizemli hikayesini 9. Sakarya Uluslararası Kısa Film Festivalinde gün yüzüne çıkardık. Sinema tarihçisi Doç. Dr. Tunç Yıldırım ile Fransa'da yaptığımız araştırmaları öğrenci, uzman ve akademisyenlerle paylaştık.

“Attila Tokatlı, sinema yönetmeni Erdoğan Tokatlı'nın kardeşidir. Galatasaray Lisesini bitirdi. Bir müddet İstanbul Üniversitesi Edebiyat Fakültesi Felsefe Bölümünde öğrenim gördü. 1956'da Paris’e gitti ve Sorbonne Üniversitesinde felsefe öğrenimi gördü. IDHEC Sinema Okulundan mezun oldu. 1960'ta Türkiye’ye geri döndü. 1961’de çektiği “Denize İnen Sokak” adlı filmi ile yurtiçi ve yurtdışında çok sayıda ödüle layık görüldü. Atıf Yılmaz ve Kemal Tahir ile birlikte senaryo yazarlığı yaptı. 1972'de çektiği “İstanbul Mezarları” belgeseli Kültür Bakanlığı desteği ile çeşitli ülkelerde gösterildi. Elsa Triolet’den çevirdiği Beyaz At (1970) ile 1971 TDK Çeviri Ödülü'nü kazandı. 21 Şubat 1988 tarihinde İstanbul’da hayata veda etti.”

A Turkish director in 1950s France: Attila Tokatlı (Interview with Associate Professor Tunç Yıldırım)

A treasure stuck in the dusty pages of cinema history; We brought to light the original and mysterious story of socialist director Attila Tokatlı at the 9th Sakarya International Short Film Festival. We shared the research we conducted in France with cinema historian Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tunç Yıldırım with students, experts and academicians.

“Attila Tokatlı is the brother of cinema director Erdoğan Tokatlı. He graduated from Galatasaray High School. He studied at Istanbul University, Faculty of Letters, Department of Philosophy for a while. He went to Paris in 1956 and studied philosophy at Sorbonne University. He graduated from IDHEC Film School. He returned to Turkey in 1960. He was deemed worthy of many awards at home and abroad with his film "The Street Down to the Sea", which he shot in 1961. He wrote the script together with Atıf Yılmaz and Kemal Tahir. The documentary "Istanbul Tombs", shot in 1972, was shown in various countries with the support of the Ministry of Culture. He won the 1971 TDK Translation Award with The White Horse (1970), which he translated from Elsa Triolet. He passed away in Istanbul on February 21, 1988.”

Un réalisateur turc dans la France des années 1950 : Attila Tokatlı (Entretien avec le professeur agrégé Tunç Yıldırım)

Un trésor coincé dans les pages poussiéreuses de l’histoire du cinéma ; Nous avons mis en lumière l'histoire originale et mystérieuse du réalisateur socialiste Attila Tokatlı lors du 9ème Festival international du court métrage de Sakarya. Nous avons partagé les recherches que nous avons menées en France avec les historiens du cinéma Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tunç Yıldırım avec des étudiants, des experts et des académiciens.

«Attila Tokatlı est le frère du réalisateur Erdoğan Tokatlı. Il est diplômé du lycée Galatasaray. Il a étudié pendant un certain temps à l'Université d'Istanbul, Faculté des Lettres, Département de Philosophie. Il vient à Paris en 1956 et étudie la philosophie à la Sorbonne. Il est diplômé de l'école de cinéma IDHEC. Il est retourné en Turquie en 1960. Il a été jugé digne de nombreux prix dans son pays et à l'étranger avec son film "La rue jusqu'à la mer", qu'il a tourné en 1961. Il a écrit le scénario avec Atıf Yılmaz et Kemal Tahir. Le documentaire « Les Tombes d'Istanbul », tourné en 1972, a été projeté dans différents pays avec le soutien du ministère de la Culture. Il a remporté le TDK Translation Award 1971 avec The White Horse (1970), qu'il a traduit d'Elsa Triolet. "Il est décédé à Istanbul le 21 février 1988."
