The Town of Penfield recently hosted a Community Input Session for the 2024 Parks and Recreation Master Plan Update. A second session is scheduled for February 24th, addressing the PRMP update process and potential additional projects for inclusion in the Master Plan. Chris Lopez and Cortland Knopp presented a novel Recreation Center Facility Study, while Andy Reitz introduced the idea of a Mountain Bike project, specifically focusing on the Shadow Pines property. Following the presentations, break-out sessions were conducted to gather valuable feedback from those in attendance. Stay tuned for an upcoming online survey in February from the Town of Penfield, offering another opportunity to share insights about Parks and Recreation. Your input is instrumental in shaping the future of our community!

The steering committee is responsible for reviewing demographic and facility data, examining future trends that will impact recreation, engaging the community in dialogue regarding future direction, formulating options for addressing program and facility needs, and presenting recommendations to the Town Board regarding the future direction of the Recreation Department.
