These monkeys have been raised in domesticated situations.. They grow up in a bed with Humans and of course they believe they are part of the human social group and develop human like desires like being wrapped in blankets with soft pillows and warm bodies to cuddle with just like in the wild but with a television to watch.. I LOVE getting to be a part of keeping their human desires active in their life.. However they still have that God given instinct to give affection their way and that is by grooming.. OMGOSH IT'S MY FAVORITE TYPE AFFECTION!!! I totally understand why it is such an acceptable way of showing love or saying sorry in a troop situation!! NO DOLLAR VALUE COULD BE PLACED ON THE ENERGY TRANSFER FROM ONE TO ANOTHER WHILE IT HAPPENS!! THE FEELING IS PRICELESS!! It is my job to not only clean their poop, pee, dishes, laundry, toys, water dishes, pools, yards, repairs, and prepare their meals BUT I also get to make sure they FEEL loved, needed, wanted, appreciated, and HAPPY!! This means I get to hands on be a part of their troop!! The rest of my life is dedicated to building Misfitland as a running rescue that will allow the monkeys to be able to support themselves when I die!! Misfitland Monkey Rescue is a FOREVER home for domesticated monkeys!! Everyone here is fixed and just living their best life for the rest of their life!! I don't want them to EVER loose the bonded troop they become after arriving here!! I couldn't imagine being ripped from the home and family I love and adore over and over again and that can happen to monkeys easily!! Misfitland would have a LOT more to income if we would re-home our babies but God willing THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN!! Abby Louise has had a lot of sudden moves and displacement in her life.. Heck she was legally dead as per the state of Ohio for 2 years!! It is hard for her to let me reach for her but that has gotten better over the last 8 months that she has been here.. Abby Louise is a kind soul with a gentle touch and a sassy personality!! The LOVE that comes from her feels my heart and makes the work I do for her worth every blister I get.. Her personality reminds me a LOT of my Angel Bullock!! I LOVE her.. She owns me..
