17-year-old Indian chess prodigy Dommaraju Gukesh just pulled off a major upset. He won the 2024 FIDE Candidates Tournament, becoming the youngest player ever to qualify for the World Chess Championship. This means he'll face the current World Champion, Ding Liren, later this year. Gukesh even drew against another strong player, Hikaru Nakamura, in the final round to secure his victory. Fabiano Caruana, another contender, wasn't able to win his game and force tiebreaks.
