This week, our Cable scientists worked on displacement, volume, mass, and density. We started the week using water to find the volume of irregular shaped solids. We then explored density by comparing density blocks that had the same volume but different densities. We ended the week with:
A station that compared the density and mass of water vs oil.
A station where we predicted how many marbles were needed to displace water to a certain level and find the total volume of the marbles.
A station that showed the correlation between the volume and mass of water (hint they are 1:1 ratio).
A station that measured the mass and volume of six solids using graduated cylinders and triple beam balances.
Enjoy!
