With Dad’s old Yamaha YZ250 2 stroke successfully converted to electric start, it was time for the inaugural test! So Kynan and I headed out to the beautiful Lake Station farm, where we knew we’d be able to push the old girl and its new modifications up to, and even beyond their limits... In doing so, hopefully also exposing the YZ’s remaining shortfalls, because I held no delusions just yet that this thing was even remotely any sort of a KTM killer. However, they only way we were going to find out what still needed doing, was by taking her to the ragged edge! That’s where flaws are exposed. But as you’re about to see, nothing about this day went according to plan…
