Those of you who believe that historic woodwork was never painted, and that historic homes were dark and dreary, be prepared to be surprised by the truth. Find yourself surrounded by ochre yellows, bright aqua blues created with copper alloy, and citron colored walls. Woodwork is highlighted with lead white, cream, grey and polychrome to pull out the details.
You'll learn the difference between applied plaster work and in situ carved plaster, you'll see trompe l'oeil ceiling medallions beautifully restored to their 18th century glory.
