It's already late August. Although there's a hint of autumn in the air in Japan, the hot days continue. In this heat, it's tempting to crave something cold, but cold foods can cool down the digestive system and impair its function, so it's important to be cautious. Instead of relying on cold desserts, I've made a pound cake that's delicious even in the summer. It's a gut-friendly treat full of dietary fiber ❤️ It's simple to make—just mix and bake—so I hope you all give it a try.
In my last video, I hung oregano from my garden indoors to dry. It has now turned into dried herbs. Even at my age, trying something new like making dried oregano can come with its share of failures… haha.
As we enter typhoon season, the recent typhoon had an impact on the Tokyo area, but my area was mostly unaffected. I hope everyone’s areas continue to enjoy calm and peaceful days. I made this video with that wish in mind.

🌸 About Me 🌸
Hey there! I’m CUKO.
I'm a woman in my 50s, working part-time.
I live near Tokyo, Japan, with my husband and our son in his 20s.
Now that my son has become independent, I want to cherish time for myself.
When I reduced gluten, casein, caffeine, alcohol, sugar, and oil, my health improved dramatically.
While achieving 100% can be challenging, I'm striving to reduce them by 70%.
My hobbies include bird watching, making sweets, and traveling.
