Following the success of our raised wooden planters in the vegetable patch, Vegega sent us one of their metal, self build planters to try. This is a great alternative for anyone who is looking for easy to build planters which are low maintenance and take up very little space. Vegega sent us the 2 in 1, 3.5 x2’ size and the video demonstrates just how easy they are to assemble. We look at how to fill raised beds, using a mix of topsoil, cardboard, straw, compost and manure. The planter is ready for use but as we approach winter we thought it may be fun to experiment with a combination of a ‘lasagna’ planting of bulbs and other plants with strong winter interest.
