Today I am baking these nostalgic Cinnamon Ornaments. They smell amazing and make a lovely gift (or gift topper). We hung ours on the tree and also used them as stocking name tags--Merry Christmas!

CINNAMON ORNAMENTS
1 cup cinnamon
3/4 cup applesauce

Mix cinnamon and applesauce together in a bowl until a dough forms (add extra cinnamon or applesauce as needed until the dough holds together). Form the dough into a ball. Place onto a silicone baking mat with a sheet of parchment paper over top. Gently roll the dough out with a rolling pin to 1/4 in. thick. Remove parchment paper. Cut out shapes using cookie cutters. Use a plastic straw or unsharpened pencil to make a hole near the top of each ornament. Remove any excess dough (you can roll this out again and make more!). Transfer the silicone baking mat to a cookie tray. Bake at 350* for about 30 minutes. Allow to cool completely. String a ribbon through the hole and tie to hang. You can also embellish these with glue and glitter or a white chalk pen.
