Der Spalthammer "Letzte Instanz" von Gränsfors Bruk hat ein Kopfgewicht von 2500g eine Stiellänge von 80cm und ein Gesamtgewicht von 3200g. Der Spalthammer ist mit ca. 189€ einer der Teuersten in meiner Sammlung und preislich gesehen weit oben angesiedelt. Der Spalthammer selbst ist reinste Handarbeit von Kopf bis zum Stiel, was man sowohl sieht als auch spürt. Ich selbst war überrascht, wie gut die Keilwirkung des Hammers ist. Dies kommt durch die lange Schneide und durchgehende Keilwirkung. Die Schneide dringt sehr leicht in das Holz auf und spaltet je weiter sie eintaucht das Holz nach außen auf. Das Geräusch des Einschlags und die Handhabung macht sehr viel Spass. Durch die 2,5kg Kopfgewicht lässt sich auch maximaler Schwung aufbauen, was zu einer hervorragenden Spaltwirkung führt.

Priced at approximately 189€, this splitting maul is one of the most expensive in my collection, positioned at the higher end in terms of price. The maul itself is a masterpiece of craftsmanship from head to handle, evident both in appearance and feel. I was pleasantly surprised by the maul's impressive wedge impact, attributed to its long edge and continuous splitting action. The edge easily penetrates the wood, progressively splitting it outward as it sinks deeper. The sound of impact and the handling are enjoyable. With a head weight of 2.5kg, it allows for building maximum momentum, resulting in outstanding splitting efficiency.
