I saw this craft flying east to west over the south of the city and was struck by the strange light configuration it had. There was a multicoloured small flashing light at the front, along the side there was a "bar" of blue with a "bar of purple behind that and another very small multicoloured flashing light at the rear. It didn't seem to make any noise so I rush in to get my phone to capture it. The definition on the phone does not do what I actually saw justice!
There was low lying stratus clouds (less than 2000ft) so the object was no higher than that, which surprised me that I couldn't hear it at such short range. The cathedral is around 500m as the crow flies to my south west and in relation to that I would have to put the objects size at over 10ft but his is only a guesstimate. The phone used was a Ulefone Armor X8.
I would like to hear from anybody else in the area who may have saw/filmed it or from anybody who has evidence of its origin, i.e. a video from it or it taking off or landing if it is a drone.
I have checked the SPTA newsletter for military manouvres, which generally happen on the plain at least 5miles to the north of the city, and I will check with both Old Sarum and Boscombe Down ATC's tomorrow to see if they help me identify it (Boscombe Flight Evaluation Centre doesn't usually fly on the weekends and I received no answer when attempting to call both ATCs this evening).
Thanks for watching!
