Last episode we built a heated bed for just $5.00, so today we're insulating it for even cheaper using common household materials anyone might have laying around, like packaging foam and cardboard!
Insulating the heated bed on your 3D printer is a great thing to do since it saves money using the printer in the long run, and protects the environment by reducing carbon footprint and waste heat emitted into the atmosphere. With this simple insulation that literally only costs pennies to make there is no downside to adding an insulation to your printbed anymore!
I was able to increase the maximum temperature of my weakish bed heater by about 10 degrees, as well as shorten heat-up times to a resonable 3 minutes 30 seconds for 60° C.
