The extremely isolated sub-Antarctic Kerguelen Islands are so isolated that they are inaccessible by airplane. The islands are quite sizable, with the main island, Grande Terre, being nearly as big as the French Mediterranean island province of Corsica. The only native wildlife on the islands are insects, seals, seabirds. But it is also home to booming invasive populations of rabbits, goats, reindeer and rats. All descended from 18th and 19th century European settler introductions. The islands are home to a unique population of feral cats that seem to exhibiting signs of early evolutionary development, similar to our feral mega-cats in Australia.

Eclectic Explorations seeks to educate the worldwide audience on fascinating lesser-known topics through thoughtful storytelling. Mythology, speculative zoology, cryptozoology, history, cinema and much more.

I also post videos about interesting things I occasionally bear witness to in life.
