Hi everybody, welcome to the Kirsty Meakin Show

I’m going to be doing my nails with the Nailchemy Acrylic Gel for the first time.

I’ll start by removing my old Fibre Gel Nails using a ceramic bit first to remove the bulk of the gel and then a fine bit to finish it off. I’m then going to do my cuticle prep with a flame bit and a proximal fold bit. I’ll take down the length with a 240 grit file. I’m going to use my own forms and fit them to the nails because I’m doing my left hand so it’s easier, I’d use tips on my right hand.

I’m going to prep the nail with Nail Prep and Base Coat and squeeze the product out onto the nail. I’ll prep my gel brush with Slip Solution and you don’t want the brush saturated with the solution so just tap off the excess on a lint free wipe. Acrylic Gel is great for beginners because you get the time to work with it, it doesn’t move around or set like Acrylic does. I’m going to pinch it whilst it’s warm too.

I’m going to use a cleanser to wipe over the nail and pinch it with my fingers at the same time. I filed the nails off camera and I’m going to wipe over with the cleanser again to clean up the dust and they’re ready for nail art.

I’ll do a full white nail and use cosmetic grade UV pigment, tapping it out onto a napkin. I’ll topcoat the nail to seal it first and then use a Lecente P1 brush to apply my pigments. I’m going back with the White Gel Polish and paint on a rose. I’ll cure the first rose to make sure I don’t knock it and repeat for the rest of the nail, curing as I go. Now for the magic, I’m going to cleanse the nail and the gel with hold onto the pigments at the side of the rose to create an awesome effect. I’ll finish with Top Coat, buff and Top Coat again for a super smooth finish.
