In the competitions, we caught a 280 cm swordfish with fishing line, which was taken entirely by hand using 80 lbs of test fishing line. The biggest swordfish caught in the history of competitions in Turkey brought us the championship trophy and we became the 1st. Have a good time everyone...

We caught 9 feet 3 inches monster swordfish with manual reel using 80 lbs test line. That was the Turkish Record of history of all fishing tournaments.

Swordfish (Xiphias gladius) is a predatory fish of the family Xiphiidae with an elongated upper jaw like a sword.

Swordfish; They have a special heating system in which heat from their body muscles is transferred to their eyes. This heating system provides the necessary heat for the visual function of the eyes of the fish.

Vision occurs as a result of a series of chemical events. As the air gets cooler, chemical reactions take longer. That's why cold-blooded creatures have to warm themselves up if they want to see fast-moving objects. Therefore, swordfish in extremely cold deep-sea waters should not be caught.

However, swordfish can chase squids even at 600 m bottom of the sea, even in places where the temperature drops to 5 degrees. 60 kilometers per hour. In order to follow the fast-swimming prey, the swordfish must keep the temperature of its eyes at 20-25 degrees.

It can swim at 120 km/h and is one of the fastest fish in the oceans. It was found in the Gulf of Izmit before industrialization.
