This webinar is the third in the Maamwi Gka-Wiiji Nokiimdimi series and will examine the intersection of Indigenous culture and traditions such as using traditional medicines or ceremonies with people who use drugs. It will look at community readiness, community action and wholistic care models for Indigenous people who use drugs and what access to this type of care means for those in the community either using drugs or around people who use drugs. There will be presentations around Communities, Alliances and Networks' (CAAN) Community Readiness Model and how it may be adapted to gauge where your community is at, as well as a presentation from Cathy Walker of Giwaabamin who will discuss the importance of Plant Medicines and low barrier care options for PWUD who are street involved or unhoused.
