Summary of this video (I don't know who reads this stuff):
In this video, YvensB shares and reviews the new Tamron 70-180mm 2.8 G2 lens for Sony full frame cameras. YvensB has been a fan of Tamron since using their 70-180mm 2.8 lens, and this updated version offers notable improvements. The lens now feels sturdier with better materials and enhanced aesthetics. The 67mm thread size remains consistent for accessory compatibility.

What's consistent with the previous version is the smooth zoom and beautiful 2.8 aperture, ideal for achieving sharp frames with creamy bokeh. However, the new features are what make this version stand out. The Tamron Lens utility software via USB-C allows you to program functions, especially useful for video shooters, enabling preset focusing points.

The lens now has a fluorine-coated front glass, enhancing resistance to dust and facilitating easy cleaning. Autofocus has improved, allowing closer focusing at 0.3 meters from 0.85 meters at 70mm focal length, all while maintaining quiet operation. Despite the addition of a glass element, the weight increase is minimal at 45g compared to the previous model.

A significant highlight is the inclusion of vibration control, ensuring stable shots, especially at 180mm. Considering its competitive price of $1699, this lens becomes an attractive option compared to the Sony 70-200 2.8 GMII, offering a great balance of features and cost-effectiveness.
