Part 2/5 to close out my section hike journey of the 300 mile Superior Hiking Trail located on Minnesota’s North Shore👇

Got a little crafty on this trip and turned it into an overnight with out and backs covering Split Rock Wayside to Lax Lake Road (Beaver Bay) Trailhead. This trip had it all: hot weather, waterfall, rain, great trail conditions, amazing sunrise and a lot of mosquitoes!

📍Day 1: Trailhead: Split Rock Wayside, 5 miles around Split Rock Loop back to trailhead. Relocated Lax Lake Rd (Beaver Bay) Trailhead, 12.5 miles to Northeast Split Rock Campsite.
Day 1 Miles: 18.2
📍 Day 2: Northeast Split Rock Campsite to Lax Lake (Beaver Bay) Trailhead, 12.5 miles.
Day 2 Miles: 12.5
Trip Total: 30.7
☕️ Timber Coffee Company, Silver Bay

💦 Plenty a long the Split Rock loop since the trail follows the Split Rock River. Water was scarce from Lax Lake SOBO to Split Rock River. Shipwreck Creek (near Chapins Ridge Campsite) was the only water source flowing.
