Driver San Francisco is one of those true cult classics. It's a game that I had always heard my friends and the racing game community as a whole praise for being one of those true one-of-a-kind passion projects. I missed out on it and put it low on my to-play list as the last Driver I had played was Driv3r, and the less said about that game, the better. 12 years after its initial release, it was finally time to play Driver San Francisco, and boy was I ever shocked at what I had been missing out on. Driver San Francisco combined ingenious approaches to how not just racing games told stories, but the medium as a whole. While it may be fresh in my mind, I can easily say that Driver San Franciso goes up into my favourite racing games of all time.
