Whatever happened to being a Girl's girl? Internalized misogyny refers to the subtle ways in which women can internalize negative societal attitudes and beliefs about their own gender, leading to feelings of self-doubt, low self-esteem, and a sense of competition with other women. Female rivalry, is the manifestation of these feelings in interpersonal relationships, often leading to conflict, jealousy, and a lack of support among women. In this video essay, we will discuss how love triangles can highlight society pitting women against each other and how internalized misogyny is the primary reason of this.
