The hike over 1500 meters to the summit of Acatnenango at almost 4000 meters above sea level. challenges me not only physically, but also mentally. The sight of the lava that the Fuego volcano spews out during the eruptions, the sunrise over the Agua volcano, the atmosphere in the base camp, everything plays into this unique experience and brings with it an amazingly emotional experience.
