A different way to find a new driver. Instead of sun, beach and sea, Joachim Fehrenkötter and his daughter Fiona set off from NRW to Italy in a 40-ton truck. Find out what the two experience and whether the freight forwarder boss can inspire the 13-year-old for the transport industry.

What a mess of weather! And at the beginning of the vacations, of all times. But Fiona Fehrenkötter doesn't really mind, because she's going to accompany her father for almost a week and almost have him to herself. The destination of their joint tour is unloading and loading points in Italy and Bavaria. The two will cover a good 3,500 kilometers in the next few days. That's no small feat. But Fehrenkötter doesn't want to lose touch with the real world and is swapping the office for the driver's cab.

Fiona is curious to see what the normal everyday life of long-distance drivers is like: nights on narrow mattresses, breakfast in the driver's cab and brushing teeth at the rest stop. Fehrenkötter hopes that his daughter - like him - will catch trucker fever. How the two do on the road and how much of the trucker idyll remains, we reveal in our article.
