Amina the queen of Zazzau emerged at a time when men dominated most aspects of life. The skillful Hausa warrior commanded a vast army which conquered many territories, greatly expanding her kingdom. She's believed to have been born in the 16th century and lived in what is now Zaria City, in Kaduna State, Nigeria.
