This part of our Hokkaido adventure definitely goes into our core memory. We hopped on a road-trip, explored the coast along North-east Hokkaido in winter and got totally mindblown by the scenic routes along Abashiri, Shari and the breathtaking Shiretoko peninsula. Every twist and turn brought us face-to-face with Japan's untouched snowy paradises. The real highlight? The drift ice phenomenon. Seeing those glistening sheets of ice drift gracefully by the coast—it's nothing short of mesmerizing. Being able to ALSO walk on those ice sheets—that totally knocked our frozen socks off!
