Wanjiku Gicheru is a talented poet, performer, theatre practitioner, and film costume designer who is passionate about using her art to drive behavioral change. She is a first runners up winner of the 64th Kenya Grand Slam with a focus on themes of femininity, sexuality, love, blackness, and political history.
Wanjiku hosts Kenya's oldest open mic platform for spoken word artists and uses participatory theatre to shift perspectives within communities. Her visually stunning film costume designs have been featured in various films, making her a unique and valuable voice in the artistic community. Wanjiku is a diverse artist who continues to inspire others through her creativity and dedication to creating social change.
