I finally tamed the ridiculous dust hurricane that forms every time I make a cut with my miter saw. This is unique to my miter saw, but maybe it will give you some ideas to make one yourself!

About this video:
I’m not sure what it is about miter saws and the “dust collection” solutions manufacturers design for them. Granted, they’ve got to contend with clearances when you’re swiveling and tilting the saw, but you would think somebody would come up with a solution for this….or at least provide a removable part for different cuts.
Keep in mind this is unique to my miter saw, but it should give you some good ideas to solve your own miter saw dust collection issues. My solution is also only for straight, 90 degree cuts. I really don’t cut miters on the miter saw very often, so this works for me.
