Come along with is us we explore the riparian wonderland of Aravaipa Wilderness near Winkelman, Arizona. Aravaipa is 19,410 acres of canyons managed by the Bureau of Land Management on the west wend and the Nature Conservancy on the East side. Aravaipa creek runs year round and is home to seven native fish species, a robust bird population, coatimundi, bighorn sheep, deer, and is shaded by sycamore, ash, willow and cottonwood trees. And yes, there are wildflowers too. This trip was taken on May 13, 2021. It was near 100 degrees when we left the canyon in the late afternoon. If you plan to go, carry plenty of water and food, and pack out what you pack in. Permits are required.

Thank you Aravaipa Farms for the hospitality and fine accommodations during our stay.
