What is Monero?

Monero was born in 2014. It was a FORK of the Bytecoin code.

Ticker symbol: XMR

Monero’s number one claim to fame is PRIVACY.

The transactions on the Monero blockchain are truly anonymous and untraceable.

Monero is the technology that most of the general public thinks Bitcoin is. If you listen to the media, Bitcoin is untraceable blockchain used to laundry dirty money.

Nothing is further from the truth.

Most public blockchains, including Bitcoin, are completely transparent. Its a public ledger, Every transaction can be trace, A to B to C.

Every addresses balance is also public knowledge.

Bitcoin is actually the worst technology to use to laundry money!!!!

Now Monero….is quite the opposite. Since its birth and extremely fast adoption in 2016, this open source blockchain has gathered a very local community of developers intent on making the number one privacy coin.

Monero has many very strong blockchain attributes.

Its super fast
Its super cheap to use, transaction fees are ~5 cents
Its super decentralized.

AND governments hate it!!!!!

If governments hate it, is this a concern?

Yes and No. So far the government dislike, hasn’t affected the Monero price.

With the SEC cracking down on XRP (ripple) many centralized exchanges did delist XMR.

But centralized exchanges will become extinct soon enough.

In the pipeline of XMR and many other cryptocurrencies, are a new technology called Atomic Swaps.

Atomic Swaps will allow you to swap tokens on chain without a middleman. This is when XMR will truly shine and most likely moon.

Monero is super decentralized.

IN 2019, it changed its mining algorithm to be ASIC mining resistant.

This new Random X proof of work protocol brought back the era of CPU mining, now everyone can and should support the Monero network.
