Lumbini Province is one of the fastest growing among Nepal’s seven provinces. Situated in the western part of the country, the province is home to more than 5 million people, and a rich cultural heritage and natural resources. On March 1, 2024, the Ministry of Finance, Lumbini Provincial Government, and development partners including the Asian Development Bank, British Embassy, European Union, Swiss Embassy, USAID, and the World Bank agreed on a joint statement to work together to catalyze, scale up, and align investments for Lumbini’s green, resilient, and inclusive development (GRID) as part of Nepal’s broader GRID platform.
