In conversation with three elderly residents of the Almora region in Kumaon district, Uttarakhand, as we explored the strong ties with Tibet, the local trade with Tibetan merchants prior to the Chinese invasion, the historical trade routes connecting India and Tibet, and the blend of cultural affinity and historical connections influenced by their geographical proximity.
