Configure Zephyr: Kconfigs and Devicetree in Simple Words - Roy Jamil, Ac6

We observed that engineers with traditional RTOS backgrounds often face a barrier in adopting Zephyr due to their unfamiliarity with two of Zephyr's core components: Kconfigs and Devicetree. These elements are often perceived as complicated and cumbersome, but in reality, they are not! The purpose of this talk is to demystify these concepts and demonstrate their simplicity and effectiveness. We aim to bridge the knowledge gap by translating the technicalities of Kconfigs and Devicetree into terms that are easily digestible for professionals accustomed to conventional RTOS or bare metal environments. This talk will cover the fundamental principles of Kconfigs and Devicetree, illustrating how they function within the Zephyr ecosystem. Through practical examples and comparisons with familiar concepts, attendees will see how these tools can be easily integrated into their work. This presentation is designed to change the way they view Kconfigs and Devicetree, transforming them from hurdles to valuable assets in developing with Zephyr. The goal is for everyone to leave with the confidence to use these tools effectively in their projects.
