In this video I offer tips for home buyers and tips for home owners. I show you where to find asbestos in houses, I point out two of the most common materials found during a home inspection in homes built from early 1900's to the 1970's. Transite pipe is the most common material that is still in use in older homes for furnace exhaust and water heater exhaust. HVAC duct wrap is also somewhat common and visible in attics and crawlspaces.

Two types of asbestos present in these materials are Crocidolite and Chrysotile. The Crocidolite contains blue asbestos which is known to be the most dangerous type as it has sharp edges and is known to stick to the lungs.
