The joint bid by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania was chosen by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). Each of the three countries will host two of the six cities where the competition will take place. The AFCON will be held in East Africa for the first time since 1976. The CAF President, Dr. Patrice Motsepe, has reaffirmed his commitment to upholding the highest standards for African football and voiced his confidence in East Africa's capacity to meet the demanding requirements for hosting the competition.
