What is the importance of coral reefs? We all know coral to be colorful and vibrant marine formations in some of the world’s most beautiful tropical locations. Coral reefs are home to an estimated 25% of all marine species. With that amount of biodiversity, coral reefs play a critical role in the ocean’s ecosystems.
