John has a keen interest in cars, owning a Worsley, Riley, Borgward, Austin 1800 and a mighty little Haflinger.

John Van Groningen is a Consultant Criminologist and has been a member of the Macedon Ranges and District Motor Club for almost 40 years.

John has had some very demanding roles in his career starting out in California and then Victoria Australia. John is a lecturer/researcher specialising in corrections, criminology, crime and delinquency as well as victimology, criminal justice, crime prevention, sentencing and illicit drugs.

John is often approached for his expertise and knowledge on some of the more difficult issues that our society is currently facing such as youth crime.

John is a gifted writer and story teller and has met many interesting characters during their confinement. John is close to publishing a book about his many challenges working in the corrections system.
