In the remote setting of the Svalbard Islands, at the 78th parallel north, lies the abode of Marta, A 33-year-old girl who, in order to have peaceful dreams at night, needs to sleep with a rifle under her bed to protect herself from polar bears. This is her corner of paradise, nestled in the extreme beauty of the Arctic.
Marta lives in the company of her faithful dogs, indispensable companions in her isolated choice of life. Her home, located outside the village of Longyearbyen, is a retreat from modern civilization, where Internet connection and conventional amenities are a distant luxury.
