Dependability of Freelance Income
Despite her passion for teaching, Hillary realized she needed more job security and income sustainability than adjunct teaching at a college gave her. Her job wasn't guaranteed semester to semester, so she needed something else. When she finally took the leap, she discovered that freelance income is consistent when you do good work.

How can you be confident enough to make the leap?
Hillary wasn't sure about Freelancing, but her Dad encouraged her and her friend Kristin also started freelancing around the same time using a course that taught her freelancing. She realized that having a mentor made all the difference, and that is why she co-founded Teacher Make the Leap with Kristin. If you're starting a business, get a mentor!

How can you find the time to build a business?
Hillary emphasizes the importance of being ruthless with your time (cut social media, or streaming, or anything else you waste time on initially), focusing on building your business during dedicated hours, and consistently moving the needle forward (just 30 minutes a day is enough).
