This is how I harvest and process my loofah gourds to get beautiful natural sponges! The process can be quite fun, and I've got some tips for harvesting at different stages.

I do want to mention this is not an exhaustive list of ways to process your loofahs. Some other ideas I've seen include plucking when green and leaving to dry in their garage, drying in an air fryer or oven, and blasting them clean with a pressure washer. While these options might be great for some, I wanted to focus this video on the methods I have found to be most reliable and simple. I hope this gives you a good place to start with harvesting your loofahs. If you find other ideas you want to incorporate into your loofah harvesting process, of course feel free to give it a try. Find the method that works best for you!
