Looking at the address written on the advertisement, we can see the old town names of "Rokukyu-cho," "Hakuro-cho," and "Iida-cho," which are no longer in use. The store in the advertisement with Rokukyu-cho written on it was probably located in the Rokukyu Shopping Arcade, where the arcade was located.

The arcade was removed in 2001 due to redevelopment, and now large apartment buildings stand on the site.

By the way, when was this advertisement written?

Many of the old town names (Rokukyu-cho, Hakuro-cho, etc.) that were used from the Edo period to the early Showa period were abolished by the residential address system improvement project that began in 1964.

Furthermore, looking at the phone numbers, they are all 3-4 digits. City area codes were created in 1961, so it is certain that the phone number was written before that.

In other words, we can tell that the advertisement was written before 1961.

1961 was the height of high economic growth, a time when the area was more lively than it is today and the population was growing rapidly.

The shopping arcade must have been very lively.
