A quick breakdown of this new home with zoned forced air heating, supplied by air handler and boiler instead of a conventional furnace. This is a high-velocity air handler with a higher fan speed than a traditional system, and it is zoned for separate floor levels.

Many new home heating systems in our northern climate are heading towards a single ignition source for both home heating and domestic hot water. Modern construction methods with high insulation values and low air leakage require less heat to maintain a desired temperature in the home. This set up provides a chance to use the heat from one appliance to do both jobs.

In this case, the boiler provides out the hot water, and the air handler steals heat from the boiler loop to heat the forced air supply for the home!

The zoning allows us to heat or cool the second floor of the home independently of each other.

This video provides a quick look at the elements involved, but each one of these components could be made into a much longer video. Hit me up with any comments, and I would be happy to help!!!

Thanks for watching!
