In this video, we find resultant force for all the forces shown. This problem is solved by combing the two component vectors to form a single final resultant force by using the Rectangular Method.

Problem statement:
Four forces act on bolt A as shown. Determine the resultant of the forces on the bolt.

Problem walkthrough steps:
-Draw a free body diagram
Look at each applied component force separately
Find or determine the x and y directional component forces for each starting component force
Sum all the x directional component forces together. Then sum all the y directional component forces together
-Use the Pythagorean Theorem to find the resultant force and vector value of the original starting component forces
-Use the directions of the summation of X forces and the summation of Y forces to determine the directional arrow for the resultant force
-With a right triangle formed, use the tangent (tan) inverse function to find the angle of the resultant off of the x-axis.
