Tirumalpur, Konar Temple belongs to the 9th Century built by Parantaka Chola I. This Konar Temple is maintained by ASI, and it's very near to the famous Temple Sri Manigandeswarar, which is 1km away.

The temple base was constructed with Upana, Jagathi, Kumuda and Kandam. After Patti above the base, a beam with white coloured granite stone runs on all four sides.

This Konar Temple is facing towards the east and consists of Mukha Mandapam, Antrala and Sanctum Sanctorum. Space is provided between the sanctum, and the Muka mandapam goes inside to a depth of about afoot. In this space, we can see pilasters and Makara Torana. Gajalakshmi can be seen in the southern place, and Durga can be seen on the northern side of the Torana. There are no idols in the niche.

This Konar temple pilaster has miniatures of Ramayana and Krishna Leela. One unusual miniature carries the dance called Kudakkoothu, which shows Krishna dancing with 2 pots balancing on both hands.

This Konar temple has the inscription of Parantaka Chola – I, Rajaraja Chola, Parthivendravarman and Kulothunga –III. And it refers to the place as Govindapadi. And at present, Govindavadi, about a KM distance from this place, must be a part of the old Govindapadi. And also mention the God as "Nintriruntharuliya Perumanadikal."

The Green stones used to construct this Konar temple vary from the granite stones available nearby. This raises the question? What's the importance to build this Konar Temple with such valuable Green stones?
