There are so many different elements that contribute to the creation of a film. Whether it’s mise en scene, costumes or a film’s score, every decision a filmmaker makes is usually very deliberate. Here I wanted to compare the stylistic approach of two contemporary masters in Christopher Nolan & Bi Gan. Both filmmakers are vastly different and are from opposite sides of the world, but I think it is very interesting to look at the difference in how they shoot & edit their films, and how this contributes to their overall film form.

There are no chapters in this video, so please enjoy my long take talking about long takes haha. I had a blast making this one, so I really hope you enjoy it ☺️

What do you think of long takes/slow cinema ? Do you prefer it ? Do you dislike it? I’m always curious to hear other opinions and expand my own knowledge !
