Thank you for viewing the Woodside Village Bands first 'Virtual Concert'

We chose The Teddy Bear's Picnic as our first virtual piece because it is our signature piece that we perform regularly for about 17 years now.

Woodside Village Band’s long-time affinity for this piece began in 2003 when the founding Director Richard Gordon became a grandfather. Richard was ecstatic to be a grandfather and wanted to welcome Katie into the world with something special so he decided to introduce her to the Woodside Village Band by giving her her first concert when she was two days old. The band was prepared and as Carrie held the hospital phone to Katie’s ear, the Band played The Teddy Bear's Picnic. Richard claims he could see her smiling. From then on, he often played it for her at concerts and she always knew it was especially for her.
