The second book in the mystery books of Dr Ruth Galloway by Elly Griffiths.
The second book finds Ruth who is a forensic archeologist being asked to help out on a dig in Norfolk England, where she lives. There are bones found on site and are originally thought to be old old bones but turn out to be more recent. This therefore requires police investigation and so in come Nelson, the detective who together with Ruth helped solve the mystery of the bones in the first book, The Crossing places. Elly Griffiths has a fine style of writing where the plot unweaves in a way that is not easy to guess whats coming next.
In This book we also see the continued mutual respect between Nelson and Ruth despite their differences.
