A shop named Mahboob Ali Tabla Maker has been bustling on Gowliguda Street in Hyderabad for the past 160 years. Mohd Shoukat and his son Shahbaz make a living by repairing and creating various instruments such as Tabla, Dholak, Congo, Bongo, and Mridangam. Shoukat's father founded the company 160 years ago. Tablas are produced in four to five different materials such as steel, brass, copper, and iron. When it comes to wood varieties like Red Sheesham, Rosewood, and Mango tree wood is used and is determined by the needs of the consumer. The store receives orders from across the country and also sends Tabla through cargo to countries like Australia, and Dubai. The price starts from 6500 to 25,000 as the store also sells Tablas for learners at a lesser price.
